Memorial and Tribute Gifts
Gifts made in honor of family and friends at times such as a birthday, anniversary or other notable occasion can be gifts of love and show how much you care. Memorial gifts allow you to thoughtfully remember those who have been such a vital part of your life. Gifts made in either of these ways will serve to honor special loved ones, while assuring that worthwhile values continue to influence the world around us. The Foundation Office will promptly send an appropriate acknowledgement to the person honored or to the family of the person for which the memorial was donated.
Outright Gifts
Gifts to the DePaul Health Foundation go directly to strengthen programs, add new services, acquire new medical equipment, or build new healthcare facilities. The goal of all projects and programs is to improve the health and lives of members of our community. You may designate your gift to a particular area such as: the Cancer Center at DePaul; the In-patient Rehabilitation Program; the Clinic at DePaul; the Healthy Aging Programs; the Sister Agatha Memorial Endowment Fund.
Cash - Gifts of cash, by check or credit card (Visa and MasterCard), are available for immediate use by the Medical Center and are normally fully deductible, to the extent allowed by law, for donors who itemize deductions.
Appreciated Securities - Gifts of long-term appreciated securities such as stocks, bonds or mutual fund shares may be deducted at the fair market value of the securities on the date of the gift, and may provide the donor the further benefit of avoiding tax on the capital gain portion of the gift. Please contact the DePaul Health Foundation Office and we will assist you through this process.
Pledges - Pledges provide prospective donors with additional flexibility in planning a gift and often enable a larger donation. Donors are able to make a pledge commitment over a mutually agreed upon period of time.
Planned or Deferred Gifts - Your Legacy
As part of your long-range financial planning, you may wish to make a planned or deferred gift, a gift that will be received after you have provided for your loved ones and yourself. Planned or deferred gifts may save taxes and fulfill your charitable plans.
Life Income Gifts
Charitable Remainder Unitrust
Charitable Remainder Annuity Trust
Life income gifts provide the donor with income while making a deferred gift to the Medical Center. An external trustee designated by the donor usually manages these life income trusts. Life income gifts can offer an immediate income tax deduction.
Life Insurance Policy - The donor can designate The DePaul Health Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
Bequests - The easiest planned gift is to name The DePaul Health Foundation in your Will.
