MISSION STATEMENT:
The Mary Immaculate Foundation assists Mary Immaculate Hospital and its subsidiaries in accomplishing the faith-based ministry of healing by generating charitable gifts from the community.

HISTORY:
The Bernardine Franciscan Sisters founded Mary Immaculate Hospital, a 110-bed acute care facility, in 1952. The mission of Mary Immaculate Hospital remains constant to provide comprehensive and personalized care with attention to treating the whole person physically, emotionally, socially and spiritually. In 1980, thanks to community support, Mary Immaculate moved to its new hospital in the Denbigh section of Newport News. St. Francis Nursing Center, a 115-bed facility for skilled and intermediate care, opened in 1989. Mary Immaculate continues to grow and in 1996, the hospital partnered with the Bon Secours Health System in a joint venture.

FUNDING:
Public support of the Mary Immaculate Foundation allows Mary Immaculate Hospital to offer services to the community that might not otherwise be possible. For example, generous donors have assisted the hospital in building a new Community Education and Health Resource Center, Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit; specialized equipment for the care of children who come through our Emergency room, a state-of-the-art monitor for cardiac catheterization laboratory, an advanced technological electrocardiogram machine to assist in caring for our heart patients, wheelchairs for St. Francis Nursing Center residents and support of the Family Focus program.

Gifts may be made to the Mary Immaculate Foundation in a number of ways including cash, memorials and tributes, wills and bequests, stocks, bonds, property, real estate, annuities, life insurance, Annual Fund and MIH Golf Classic.

Many of our donors would like to make planned gifts to support the programs funded by the Mary Immaculate Foundation. Planned gifts may include bequests designated in your will and charitable trusts. The most common forms of charitable trusts include Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts, Revocable Living Trusts and Irrevocable Trusts.

Please contact your financial advisor to discuss how a planned gift may improve your financial and estate planning. You may be pleased to discover ways to fulfill charitable wishes, while actually enhancing your security or that of your loved ones.
