Norbert (Bert) Newfield, Ph.D.

Norbert (Bert) Newfield, Ph.D., is the behavioral health professional on the multi-disciplinary team at Bon Secours Surgical Weight Loss Center. A clinical psychologist, Dr. Newfield has more than 30 years experience treating individuals with eating disorders, as well as expertise in the treatment of hospice and chronic pain patients.

In addition to his key role as part of the team providing comprehensive care at the Surgical Weight Loss Center, Dr. Newfield also maintains a private practice with Churchland Psychiatric Associates. He earned his doctorate from the University of Rochester in 1970, and spent three years at Portsmouth Naval Hospital during his career in the U.S. Navy.
