Our highly trained, multi-disciplinary team will meet the
needs of your patient. The Breast Program’s medical
team will honor a referring physician’s choice and/or
a patient’s preference to have the physician of their
choice.
T.C. Anderson, MD
Cancer Pathologist
Dr. Anderson earned his MD at University College in Cork,
Ireland. He completed his internship at Cork Regional Hospital
in Ireland and completed his residency in pathology at Hartford
Hospital in Connecticut. Dr. Anderson also completed a fellowship
in pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. Dr. Anderson
practices with Kingsley Lane Pathology Associates in Norfolk,
Virginia.
Daniel M. Atienza, MD
Hematology Oncology
Dr. Atienza earned his MD at the University of the East. He
completed his residency in internal medicine at Cook County
Hospital and a fellowship in hematology/pathology at Georgetown
University Hospital. Dr. Atienza practices with Virginia Oncology
Associates in Suffolk, Virginia.
Snehal A. Damle, MD
Hematology/Oncology
Dr. Damle is a graduate of the Maharajah Sayajirao University
in Baroda, India. She served her residency in internal medicine
at Albert Einstein Medical Center and a fellowship in oncology
at Montefiore Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Damle’s practice
is Snehal A. Damle, MD, PC, located in Chesapeake, Virginia.
J. Randolph Howard, Jr, DO
Hematology/Oncology
Dr. Howard earned his DO at Kirksville College of Osteopathic
Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal
medicine at the U.S. Naval Hospital Oakland and a fellowship
in hematology/pathology at the U.S. Naval Hospital Bethesda.
Dr. Howard practices with Virginia Oncology Associates in
Suffolk, Virginia.
Susan E. McKenzie, MD
Radiologist
Dr. McKenzie is a graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School.
She served her internship at Anderson Memorial Hospital in
South Carolina and her residency in radiology at Eastern Virginia
Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. McKenzie practices with Medical
Center Radiologists in Norfolk, Virginia.
Janice Roman, MD
Radiation Oncologist
Dr. Roman graduated from Georgetown University of Medicine
in Washington, D.C. She completed a residency in obstetrics
and gynecology at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut and a residency
in radiation oncology at Eastern Virginia Graduate School
of Medicine. She is board certified in radiation oncology
and practices with Oncology Associates of Virginia in Portsmouth,
Virginia.
Lloyd A. Shabazz, MD
Hematology/Oncology
Dr. Shabazz earned his MD at the University of California,
Davis. He served his residency in internal medicine at the
Mayo Clinic and completed his fellowship in hematology/oncology
at Scripps Clinical and Research Foundation, Scripps Memorial
Hospital-La Jolla, the University of California San Diego
and UCSD Health Plan. Dr. Shabazz practices with Delta Hematology/Oncology
Associates in Portsmouth, Virginia.
James J. Stark, MD
Medical Oncologist
Dr. Stark is a graduate of Harvard Medical School in Boston,
Massachusetts. He completed his internship and residency at
Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri and returned to Boston
where he completed a fellowship at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Stark is board certified in internal medicine and oncology
and his practice is located in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Laurie A. Jesz RN, BSN
Breast Program Coordinator
Laurie Jesz brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to
our breast program. Her career has been dedicated to educating
and supporting breast health and breast cancer patients. Laurie
received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from MedCenter
One College of Nursing in Bismarck, North Dakota. She is an
Army and Navy veteran and completed the Navy Nurse Corps Officer
training at the Officer Indoctrination School in Providence,
Rhode Island. She completed her Breast Health Certification
with EduCare Inc., of West Columbia, South Carolina. Laurie
is experienced in internal medicine, surgery, women’s
health, breast health, and oncology.
