James J. Stark, MD
Medical Oncologist

Dr. Stark is a graduate of Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts. He completed his internship and residency at Barnes Hospital St. Louis, Missouri and returned to Boston where he completed a fellowship at Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Dr. Stark is board certified in internal medicine and oncology and his practice is located in Portsmouth, Virginia.


Janice Roman, MD
Radiation Oncologist

Dr. Roman graduated form Georgetown University of Medicine in Washington, D.C. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut and a residency in radiation oncology at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. She is board certified in radiation oncology and practices with Oncology Associates of Virginia in Portsmouth, Virginia.


Vandana Patel, MD
Pulmonologist

Dr. Patel earned her MD at Maharajah Sayajirao University of Baroda in India. She served her internship and residency at Woodhull Medical Center in New York and completed a fellowship at Nassau County Medical Center in East Meadow, New York. Dr. Patel is board certified in internal medicine and pulmonary diseases. She practices with Portsmouth Pulmonary Associates in Chesapeake, Virginia.


Mark Lawson, MD
Gastroenterologist

Dr. Lawson is a graduate of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his internship, residency and a fellowship at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California. He is board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. Dr. Lawson practices with the GI and Liver Specialists of Tidewater in Suffolk, Virginia.


T.C. Anderson, MD
Cancer Pathologist

Dr. Anderson earned his MD at University College in Cork, Ireland. He completed his internship at Cork Regional Hospital in Ireland and completed his residency in pathology at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut. Dr. Anderson also completed a fellowship in pathology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Maryland. Dr Anderson practices with Kingsley Lane Pathology Associates in Norfolk, Virginia.


Susan E. McKenzie
MD, Radiologist

Dr. McKenzie is a graduate of Eastern Virginia Medical School. She served her internship at Anderson Memorial Hospital in South Carolina and her residency in radiology at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. McKenzie practices with Medical Center Radiologists in Norfolk, Virginia.


Lisa W. Martin, NP, MSN, RN, ONC
Patient Care Coordinator

Lisa Martin is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where she earned a bachelors of science. She completed her training as a registered nurse at Miami-Dade/University of Florida and continued her education at the University of Phoenix where she earned a masters of science in nursing. Lisa also attended the University of North Florida where she graduated as a primary care nurse practitioner.

Lisa is a certified oncology nurse and is experienced in critical care nursing. Her background as an associate professor at the University of North Florida and as an adjunct professor at Jacksonville University’s School of Nursing has proven to be a real asset in her ability to communicate with both physicians and patients in our Lung and Chest Program.
