Support Services

The patients of Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center’s Lung and Chest Program also have the benefit of participating in a variety specialized services. These support services have been designed to help patients recover fully: mind, body and soul.

The Image Recovery Center
Modern medicine offers hope to heal you on the inside, but those lifesaving treatments can also affect your outward appearance. At the Image Recovery Center, our highly-trained staff will introduce you to techniques, treatments and products designed to help you overcome the temporary or permanent changes to your appearance as a result of treatment. They include:

  • Appearance consultations
  • Hair replacement alternatives for complete and partial hair loss
  • Skin care assessments and therapy
  • Camouflage makeup for scars, skin discoloration and dark circles
  • Cosmetic solutions for lash and brow loss
  • Lymphedema products
  • Therapeutic facials
  • Reflexology
  • Nail and hand therapy
  • Individual and group appearance workshops
  • Pre- and post-surgical mastectomy products such as
    breast forms, bras and swimwear

The Image Recovery Center participates in most major medical insurance plans, and many of the services we offer are covered.

Dietician Services
Patients participating in the Lung and Chest program face special nutritional needs during their treatment and recovery process. To ensure that these nutritional needs are being met, our licensed dieticians can formulate a diet tailored to a patient’s specific needs.

Counseling Services
The healing process extends beyond treating the physical body. The anxiety and stress associated with the treatment process can have a negative effect on a patient’s well being. That’s the reason the Lung and Chest Program has professional counselors who are experienced in helping patients work through their issues and maintain a positive outlook.

Support Groups
There’s strength in numbers. That’s the reason we encourage patients in the Lung and Chest Program to participate in one of our support groups. People who are experiencing, or have experienced the same challenges, come together to share their stories, experiences and strength.
