EAP Service Access: Bon Secours provides continuous access to EAP services seven days a week, 24-hours a day via a local number (757) 398-2374 or toll-free number 1-800-327-3257. In the event of an emergency, immediate telephonic consultation with an EAP counselor is provided along with same-day, in-person appointments, when needed.
Contract Management: Bon Secours EAP assigns a dedicated account manager to every client company to assist in managing and promoting the EAP. The account manager serves as the primary contact, provides quarterly reports, on-site visits, management consultations, newsletters, quarterly satisfaction surveys and on-going program review.
Promotional Services: Bon Secours EAP promotes utilization of EAP services via development of customized promotion plans - incorporating such elements as senior briefing, employee and supervisory orientations to EAP services, management trainings, dedicated company brochures and posters, employee and supervisory newsletters and ongoing provision of EAP-related materials.
Senior Briefing: Bon Secours EAP provides a briefing for key leadership on the EAP's service components and planning process. The goal is to provide leadership with information about the EAP, which will enable them to support their employees' use of the Program.
Supervisory Training: Bon Secours EAP introduces management personnel to EAP services and instructs them as to the appropriate methods in which to access and use the EAP. The training is generally one to one and one-half hours in length, and includes topics such as the manager's/supervisor's role in the EAP, identification of troubled employees, communication with employees regarding performance issues, and the EAP supervisory referral process.
Employee Orientations: Bon Secours EAP provides in-person employee orientations to covered employees at the time of program implementation and on an ongoing basis. The purpose of employee orientations is to familiarize employees with EAP services and the process for accessing the EAP. The orientation is designed to answer any questions attendees may have about the role and functions of their EAP.
Employee Education Seminars: Bon Secours EAP offers a wide variety of workshops and seminars for employees and supervisors. Popular seminar topics include Stress Management, Effective Parenting, Balancing Work and Family, Building Better Relationships, Talking to Children about Drugs and Alcohol, Setting Personal Goals, and Communicating Effectively at Work. Customized workshops tailored to specific workplace needs can also be provided.
Supervisory Consultations: Bon Secours EAP staff are accessible 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week to assist Human Resources, supervisors and/or managers in handling difficult employee/ workplace situations.
Intake Coordinator: Intake Coordinators are responsible for screening for emergencies and urgent requests by conducting a telephonic intake and assessment. Intake Coordinators ensure each EAP client receives those services he/she needs to maximize EAP intervention at all stages, assuring client satisfaction with EAP services in the process.
Individual EAP Sessions:
EAP Entry: An Administrative Coordinator conducts a telephonic intake for each employee or family member to screen for emergencies, to ensure the employee's presenting problem is appropriate for the EAP and to explain the EAP benefit.
EAP Assessment and Short Term Problem Solving Services: If the EAP counselor determines that the employee's problem can be handled within the scope of the EAP, the counselor conducts short-term counseling to effectively resolve the employee's problem. Short-term counseling can be an effective in resolving issues such as personal stress, work-related stress, work conflicts, relationship issues, and dependent care problems.
Referral Service: If a client is in need of long term or continuing treatment, EAP Coordinator assists in facilitating initial appointments with appropriate treatment providers.
Critical Incident Stress Debriefing (CISD) Services: Bon Secours provides on-site intervention following a traumatic workplace incident, including workplace violence, coworker death(s), and workplace robbery, natural disaster, or worksite accident or injury. Bon Secours CISD services effectively address affected employee needs, enabling employees and work group to regain their functional capabilities within the shortest possible time frame.
Life Solutions EAP Website: A web site will provide employees and supervisors with up to date information on depression and anxiety, drugs and alcohol, health and wellness, school specific issues, military family life, relationships and parenting. The website also includes information especially geared to supervisors and managers to assist them in dealing with employee issues.
Organizational Development (OD): Bon Secours EAP staff has specific training and expertise in OD. Employer Health Services OD staff provides consultation regarding strategic planning, executive coaching, senior management team building, Human Resources-related or organizational issues like workplace policy formation and implementation, workforce morale issues, workforce re-engineering initiatives and violence in the workplace.
Summary
The primary goals of Bon Secours EAP include, but are not limited to: (1) assisting employees and their family members in dealing with personal problems which may affect job performance; (2) ensuring confidential, professional assistance and its availability should it be needed; (3) promoting actively the Program through printed materials; (4) providing training programs and education sessions to meet the organization's needs; (5) providing quality, cost-effective EAP services; and (6) evaluating the effectiveness of the Program by offering a performance improvement process.
