Bon Secours Colorectal Center at Harbour View

Colorectal Cancer

Colorectal cancer is the second most common, and, after lung cancer, the second most deadly form of cancer for U.S. adults. Everyone is at risk, though some are even more likely to develop cancer of the colon or rectum due to genetics or to lifestyle risk factors.

Gut Instincts: Early Screening for Good Health
Risk of colorectal diseases increases with age. After 40, your instincts should lead you to talk to your doctor. Early screening and treatment of colorectal diseases has terrific benefits, whether non-surgical or surgical options are chosen by patient and doctor.

When problems are detected early that require surgery, patients have shorter hospital stays, less painful recovery, and faster return to normal activities.
