Gregory F. Adams, MD, FACS Joins
Tidewater Surgical Specialists
Premier Group for Minimally Invasive Surgery in Hampton Roads Expands

Suffolk, Va. (July 14, 2008) – Tidewater Surgical Specialists, the leaders in minimally invasive surgery and a Bon Secours Hampton Roads surgical practice, has hired Gregory F. Adams, MD, FACS, to join its general surgery division.
As a board certified general surgeon, and fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the Southeastern Surgical Congress, Dr. Adams has performed hundreds of laparoscopic gastric bypass surgeries and has particular expertise in lap-band gastric by-pass, breast surgery and the surgical treatment of gastric reflux. Dr Adams is also a member of the Society of American Gastrointestinal & Endoscopic Surgeons.
Dr. Adams earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed a surgical internship at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center and a surgical residency at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. He served as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS South Carolina and at the Naval Air Station Oceana Medical Clinic. He served as chief of surgery at Decatur General Hospital in Alabama.
Dr. Adams will be joining the surgical team for the Bon Secours Surgical Weight Loss Center and working with medical director, David D. Spencer, DO, FACS and bariatric surgeon Glen L. Moore, MD, FACS.
Bon Secours Surgical Weight Loss Center was named American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (AMBS) Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the Surgical Review Corporation, and recognized as a five star bariatric program by HealthGrades, ranking number one in Virginia based on patient outcomes. The program has provided care to more than 1,400 individuals to overcome the physical and emotional challenges associated with morbid obesity. |
