DePaul Appoints Brewer as Medical Director of its Wound Care Program

Norfolk, Va. (February 16, 2006) - Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Brewer, MD, as Medical Director of The Wound Care Center at Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center.  Dr. Brewer, a graduate of University of Kentucky Medical School, completed his general surgery residency at Oakland Naval Hospital and his plastic surgery residency at National Naval Medical Center.  He has over 25 years of experience in wound care management.

 “More than five million Americans suffer from a non-healing wound,“ states Dr. Brewer.  Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) is an important adjunct in the treatment of these types of wounds.”

HBO has been proven effective in the care of acute and chronic complex wounds, including:  Complicated surgical wounds, Lower extremity venous and arterial wounds, diabetic wounds, pressure ulcers, wounds resulting from local trauma and radiation tissue injuries.

The Wound Care Center's Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Program consists of 3 state-of-the-art hyperbaric chambers. Each patient receives an individualized plan of care developed by our highly skilled clinical staff in conjunction with our physicians.
