PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT JOHN GOODHART JOINS BON SECOURS HEART INSTITUTE

(Portsmouth, Va - July 21, 2006) - Bon Secours Heart Institute is pleased to announce the association of John F. Goodhart, PA-C, a cardiac surgery physician assistant with more than 15 years experience.

John Goodhart Goodhart’s most recent position was as a physician assistant in a four-surgeon cardiothoracic surgery-training program at The Ross Heart Hospital at the Ohio State University Medical Center. Prior to that, he was a physician assistant in a private cardiac surgery practice at Midwestern Cardiac Surgery. He also worked in Norfolk as a senior physician assistant in a ten-surgeon cardiac surgery group performing over 2100 surgical case per year.

Goodhart received his bachelor’s degree from Long Island University and completed the Physician Assistant Program at Brooklyn’s Cumberland Hospital. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Ohio Association of Physician Assistants and the Association of Physician Assistants in Cardiovascular Surgery.

Bon Secours Heart Institute opened in November 2005 at Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center and is affiliated with Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons. Columbia University Medical Center at The New York Presbyterian Hospital was ranked eighth among the nation’s top heart programs in the 2005 U.S. News & World Report survey of best hospitals.
