Graves joins Bon Secours
New Family Practitioner joins Nansemond Suffolk Family Practice 

 

Suffolk, Va. (August 27, 2007) – Nikki L. Graves, MD, has joined the staff of Nansemond Suffolk Family Practice, a Bon Secours Maryview Primary Care Center.

Dr. Graves comes to Bon Secours from the University of South Florida, where she recently completed a residency in family medicine. Prior to this, Dr. Graves served as a medical officer in the U.S. Navy. She was a general medical officer, providing primary care and acute care at the Branch Medical Clinic at Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego. She also served as medical officer and medical  department head for Naval Mobile Construction Battalion Five at Port Hueneme, Calif.

After receiving bachelor’s degrees in biology and Spanish at Guilford College in Greensboro, N.C., she completed a medical degree at the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. She did an internship at Spartanburg Region Medical Center in South Carolina. In addition to her medical training, she has completed a number of military training courses.

Dr. Graves is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, the American Medical Association, the American Medical Women’s Association and the National Medical Association. She has also volunteered in a number of community service projects.
