GREENE-GOLDEN ELECTED TO IAHCSMM EXECUTIVE BOARD

(Newport News, Va. – July 16, 2006) – Sharon Green-Golden, CRCST, manager of sterile processing for Bon Secours Mary Immaculate Hospital, has been named secretary/treasurer for the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM). She will serve a two-year term.

Margaret StuppyIAHCSMM is a 9,000-member organization for professionals in healthcare central service/materiel management. As secretary/treasurer, Greene-Golden will record and maintain accurate information, and ensure that the organization practices sound budgeting practices.

Greene-Golden’s professional training includes Albany State University (nursing course), and IAHCSMM/Purdue Central Service Technical Course. She is a certified nursing assistant, certified food manager, and certified registered central service technician.

Prior to working for Mary Immaculate Hospital, Greene-Golden worked for more than 20 years for Sentara CarePlex Hospital in Hampton, Va., in various capacities including inventory specialist/SPD team leader of sterile processing, materials supply technician/sterile processing technician, operating room assistant, and nursing assistant. She also worked at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah, Ga., as a labor and delivery technician.
