Bon Secours Offers Opportunity to
Lighten Up !

 The unique weight management system incorporates mind, body and spirit to help participants take off excess weight and keep it off.

Portsmouth, Va. (April 12, 2006)- Just in time for bathing suit weather, the Bon Secours Wellness Center’s Lighten Up! program will be starting another 20-week session.  Staffed by medical professionals, Lighten Up! focuses on helping participants change personal habits to learn how to take off excess weight and keep it off. The 20-week sessions includes: one-on-one guidance, as well as group sessions; pre and post cholesterol, glucose, blood pressure and body fat analysis; a participant manual; nutrition guide; relaxation tape; the Eat, Drink and Be Healthy book by W. Willett, MD of Harvard Medical School; and a support group to help reinforce learned behaviors.  Various payment options are available to cover the $299 participant fee.   For more information about times and locations call 889-CARE.  

Lighten Up! is an innovative weight loss program that pairs the latest science of weight management with mind/body medicine.  Research shows that certain lifestyle habits alter metabolism and trigger hormone imbalances that support weight gain.
