BON SECOURS MARYVIEW MEDICAL CENTER
NAMES DEDICATED SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENT
Portsmouth, Va. (November 30, 2005) – Patricia Thomas, dietetic coordinator, Food Services Department, Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center, was recently selected as the Bon Secours Maryview Medical Center representative for the Health System’s 2005 Dedicated Service Award.
Patricia has worked at Bon Secours Maryview for over 27 years in the nutrition services department where she currently manages the Patient Services Program. In addition to being active participant at Mount Carmel Baptist Church in Norfolk, she is also serves her community through her affiliation with the Friends of Portsmouth Juvenile Court. Pat has a reputation at Maryview for going beyond what the role entails, for being a motivator, an encourager, and an inspirational person to work with. She has faithfully served as the chairman of the Maryview Foundation Employee Campaign for the past two years and has also participated in health screening for the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Pat is a proud resident of the Barberton section of Norfolk.

The Bon Secours Health System headquartered in Marriottsville, MD, sponsors the Dedicated Service Award. It honors employees who have demonstrated their commitment to the core values of Bon Secours.
Pat was feted at a special dinner at the Harbor Court Hotel in Baltimore with 23 other award recipients and executive leaders from throughout the Bon Secours Health System nationally. In addition to a plaque commemorating her achievement and award, Deb also received a gift certificate to an area mall, a Dedicated Service Award pin, and a $500 check.
The Bon Secours Health System Dedicated Service Award honors employees who have demonstrated their commitment to the core values of Bon Secours. Winners are chosen by a team of managers who base their decisions on how well nominees meet the selection criteria, which include support of the mission of Bon Secours, personal development and accomplishments in activities that reach beyond the recipient’s basic job description. Dedicated Service Awards have been presented over the last 19 consecutive years.
