Norfolk, VA (June 5, 2007) – Eric M. Preuss, a former Coast Guardsman with diverse primary health care experience, has been hired as the practice manager for the new Bon Secours DePaul Primary Care Group.
Currently, Preuss is responsible for managing the construction and opening of DePaul Medical Associates at Health Park on Granby Street in Norfolk, as well as a primary care office that will open at the new Bon Secours Health Center at Virginia Beach. Both primary care offices, which will open later this summer, will be staffed by Bon Secours employed primary care physicians. As practice manager, Preuss will handle daily operations of the offices.
Preuss spent 21 years in the Coast Guard, beginning as a paramedic and corpsman on rescue helicopters. He also served in an independent duty capacity as a health caregiver aboard Coast Guard cutters. Later in his career, he supervised 21 family practice clinics with more than 200 civilian medical staff, through the Coast Guard Maintenance and Logistics Command. He also has significant quality improvement and process improvement experience with the service.
