Bon Secours Announces New Medical Director
for Imaging Center in Virginia Beach

Virginia Beach, Va. (May 21, 2007) – James Charles Mosure, M.S., M.D., F.A.C.R., has been appointed as director of the diagnostic imaging center at the new Bon Secours Health Center at Virginia Beach.

Dr. Mosure founded MS Imaging, Inc. in 2004. This was started as a teleradiography and onsite subspecialty support network for radiology and clinical practices, as well as a consultative service.

A board-certified diagnostic radiologist, Dr. Mosure has worked at Southampton Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Va., Parham Radiology in Richmond, and University Medical Center in Lebanon, Tenn. He helped to establish the Radiology Residency Program at the Naval Medical Center while serving as the program’s first director for two years.  He also served as a diagnostic radiologist for Medical Center Radiologist in Norfolk. Dr. Mosure also served as director of MRI at Sentara Leigh Hospital from 1990 to 2002.

He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Cincinnati in Ohio and received his medical degree from the Northeastern Ohio College of Medicine. He did an internship at the Medical College of Virginia and a residency in diagnostic radiology at Ohio State University Hospitals. He received a master’s degree in Radiologic Science from Ohio State University Hospitals and also completed a fellowship there in MRI/Musculoskeletal Radiology.

Dr. Mosure is active in several professional societies, including the International Skeletal Society, American College of Radiology, Radiological Society of North America and the American Roentgen Ray Society. He is a past treasurer and president of the Tidewater Radiology Society. He has had a number of academic appointments, including serving as an assistant professor of radiology and director of musculoskeletal imaging at Eastern Virginia Medical School.  Dr. Mosure was also assistant professor of radiology with Uniformed Services University Health Sciences while at the Naval Medical Center of Portsmouth. He has been a manuscript reviewer for two principal radiology professional publications.  He has co-authored and published numerous articles and has presented papers and lectured for many medical groups.

The new Bon Secours Health Center at Virginia Beach represents the health system’s entry into Virginia’s largest city. The 85,000-square foot center provides a variety of health care services for the residents, including advanced imaging, laboratory services, ambulatory surgery, physical therapy and sports performance, and onsite offices for primary care and specialists. The facility also houses a community room for health education programs. Through this new health center, Bon Secours Hampton Roads will bring quality health services closer to its patients in Virginia Beach.
