Simia joins Bon Secours as CFO

Suffolk, Va. (June 9, 2008) – Bon Secours Health System announced today that Greg Simia, CPA, has joined the local health system, effective June 9, 2008, as the Chief Financial Officer. Greg comes to Bon Secours Hampton Roads from SSM Health Care of Oklahoma, where he has served as the regional vice president of finance since 1997. SSM Health Care is a multi-state health care system headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri and the first health care organization to receive the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2002. Prior to working with SSM Health Care, Greg was the CFO with St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, California.
Simia comes to Bon Secours with a broad range of experience that includes: participation in the development of numerous physician joint ventures, the implementation of a comprehensive revenue cycle improvement process as well as the development of management reports to facilitate effective decision-making in operation and strategic initiatives. In addition, Greg participated in a number of SSM Health Care system-wide initiatives such as their corporate responsibility process design, patient friendly billing program, and strategic planning process improvement team. Finally, he also served as a member of the system-wide performance indicator reporting team that was identified as a Malcolm Baldrige best practice.
A graduate of University of Nevada, Las Vegas in business administration, Greg received his masters in business administration from The University of Texas at Austin.
