MARY IMMACULATE HOSPITAL PARTNERS WITH VICTORY YMCA TO OFFER A NEW CHOICE FOR PHYSICAL THERAPY

Newport News, Va. (June 13, 2006) Mary Immaculate Hospital, a member of the Bon Secours Hampton Roads Health System, announced today the expansion of services to meet community need for integrated outpatient physical therapy services, by partnering with the Victory YMCA.  Victory YMCA Physical Therapy is located at 101-A Long Green Blvd in Yorktown.
“The YMCA is an ideal partner. Their core values are aligned with the ministry of Mary Immaculate Hospital. The YMCA, like Mary Immaculate, is committed to providing unique services that empower the community to take an active role in improving their bodies, their minds and their spirits. By focusing on all three of the factors related to wellness, services like this have the opportunity to have a positive impact on overall health,” said Pat Robertson, executive-vice president/administrator, Mary Immaculate Hospital.  “We are delighted to have this opportunity to partner with the YMCA and better serve our community.”

In addition to comprehensive physical therapy services, such as aquatic therapy, orthopedic / manual therapy, post-rehabilitative fitness programs, the center will also offer on-going community education and wellness services in collaboration with Bon Secours Wellness Services.

The new center is located only seven miles from Mary Immaculate Hospital for individuals in need of additional care.  The Peninsula’s Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery, offered on the campus of Mary Immaculate Hospital, is available for individuals in needing more comprehensive orthopedic care.
