JOYCE WILLIAMS PROMOTED TO NURSE MANAGER, TRANSITIONAL CARE CENTER, AT BON SECOURS DEPAUL MEDICAL CENTER
(Norfolk, Va– August 04, 2006) –Bon Secours DePaul Medical Center has promoted Joyce Williams, R.N., to nurse manager of the Transitional Care Center. She also is nurse manager for the Acute Rehabilitation Unit. In both positions, she is the head nurse in charge of payroll, scheduling, hiring and supervising the department’s nursing staff.
Williams has worked for DePaul almost 27 years, holding several job titles and receiving numerous accolades from her supervisors and colleagues. Recently, the Acute Rehabilitation Unit earned a 2006 National Excellence in Healthcare 5-Star Award for providing Excellent Customer Service from Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC). PRC, headquartered in Omaha, Neb., is a nationally known healthcare marketing research company. The Transitional Care Center recently received a perfect score for their state inspection.
Prior to working at DePaul, Williams worked for Sentara Norfolk General for two years. She also worked for one year at Chesapeake General Hospital. Williams completed her training as a registered nurse at Norfolk State University.
